Transcript: Cindy Crenshaw, 8/22 Rally

August 23, 2009

The following is the complete transcript of Cindy Crenshaw’s remarks at the August 22nd Health Care Freedom Rally:

My Thoughts On Where My Country Is Heading

by Cindy Crenshaw, Proud American, Air Force veteran

I really appreciate these fine people with Sooner Tea Party for letting me speak with them today. For quite awhile now I have been very concerned with the direction our lawmakers in Washington DC have been taking this Country. I am an American who is extremely worried at how rapidly our freedoms are being stripped away from us.

I resent the fact that we have a President who proves by his actions that he does not like America. He apologizes to other world leaders for America’s past actions, and is friendly with dictators. I am very proud of America, we have done more good for the world than any other country.

In addition to having a tyrannical President, we have lawmakers who are above the laws they themselves have passed! They too don’t seem to like their country, and I know for sure they hate anyone who speaks out against them! They boldly call us un-American, Nazis, terrorists just because we are speaking out against policies we know are damaging to our way of life. I was sickened when I read the DHS report that said I was considered to be a terrorist threat just because I was a Veteran who was opposed to my Federal Government. These politicians must be stopped, and the American silent MAJORITY must be silent no longer. I have seen so many things happen so quickly, that I just had to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Our freedom is at stake here. For goodness sake, I lost my legs in a terrorist attack, and now my government officials think I am a terrorist??? No, those people in DC don’t represent me!! And I am not going to just sit back and let them get away with this!

Today 2.6 million Americans have lost their jobs just since Obama took over the Whitehouse. Unemployment rate is 9.5% and climbing. What happened to his promise of 3-4 million jobs created, and unemployment no higher than 8%? Obama has taken over the Auto Industry, US Financial Systems, Housing and Banking, and now he and his administration have their eyes on our healthcare.

The politicians in Washington are trying to destroy the greatest healthcare system the world knows, and not because they are inept, no, this is a deliberate power grab, the Liberals have been trying to do this since the 1960s, because they know if they control our healthcare– they control us.

Now many say the VA system of healthcare is working great, and the American people would benefit greatly with a system like it. I have received care in the VA since I was retired, and while I have received good care most of the time, I have always had the choice to go to private doctors and pay for my care myself, which I do often. In the VA system, I may have to wait a month or two to get an appointment, and there may be quite a long wait time even with a scheduled appointment. When the entire Country is forced into this system, care will cease as we know it. Right now in fact care is being rationed. Many of the Veterans coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan are limited on the type of care they can receive, and they have a time limit on receiving care from the VA. If this healthcare bill HR3200 passes, I won’t have the option to go out and see a private doctor, and neither will any other Americans, except the politicians, because they won’t be covered under this same plan, and neither will their families.

The politicians tell us 46 million people are uninsured, and it’s CRITICAL that we pass this bill so those people will be cared for. That is a lie, pure myth. 9 million of those 46 are already on Medicaid; 3.5 million are eligible for existing government coverage; 20 million can afford insurance but choose not to buy it. That leaves us with 13.5 million uninsured- mostly accounted for by the illegal immigrant population of 7 to 20 million people (who will all, by the way, be covered under Obamacare). So do the math, that leaves the number of Americans without healthcare virtually nil. Let’s fix the programs we already have, expose and get rid of the fraud and waste. Legislate TORT REFORM for goodness sake! Common sense dictates that it would be better to start there. Medical costs would go down considerably!

But remember, this isn’t about what’s best for Americans, it’s about the power of the ruling class. Listen to this quote from Pravda, Russia’s leading newspaper:

“It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breathtaking speed.” Even the Russians see it. Do we?

The Stimulus bills were rammed down our throats, along with Cap and Trade, and now the politicians are trying to do the same with HR3200. I believe all of this is unconstitutional. The politicians didn’t read the bills before they passed them, they didn’t give the people the truth about them, or the time to debate the necessity of the bills, but they did authorize that the taxpayers fund them. Does taxation without representation ring a bell? We need to hold these lawmakers accountable who voted for these abominations, and let our voices be heard now and in 2010 at the ballot box, in such a great turnout that voter fraud won’t make a difference. I think that is the only way we will get these professional politicians to take note, and lets not let their ACORN CRIMINALS or Union THUGS scare us from our goal of removing these LAWBREAKERS!

I would like to end my talk with a few quotes I think you will find notable.

Obama’s Science Czar John P. Holdren said this: ”There exists ample authority under which population growth could be regulated…It has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.”

He also said, ”All the children who are born, beyond what would be required to keep up the population to a desired level, must necessarily perish, unless room be made for them by the death of grown persons.” Who will choose which children must perish, or which grown persons??

Sounds like the Obama Adm. Has plans to control the American people from the moment of conception to the last breath we take.

Let me remind you of what our great President Kennedy said: “A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.

Would President Kennedy recognize his party today? Would he recognize the Republican Party? I don’t think so.

My last quote to share with you is from the late great Ronald Reagan at his 1967 gubernatorial inaugural address where he noted: “Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom, and then lost it, have never known it again.”

Why are the politicians trying so hard to silence us? Because they know the power of the spoken word! It was spoken words which tore down the Berlin Wall, and I know in my heart we can save our Country if enough of us speak up! Thank you so much for letting me speak to you today.

How the VA Encourages Vets to Choose Death

August 20, 2009

Jim Towey’s 8/18 article in the WSJ discusses how the VA handbook on end-of-life choices for veterans encourages them to choose death.  Here are some quotes from that article:

Last year, bureaucrats at the VA’s National Center for Ethics in Health Care advocated a 52-page end-of-life planning document, “Your Life, Your Choices.” It was first published in 1997 and later promoted as the VA’s preferred living will throughout its vast network of hospitals and nursing homes. …

Who is the primary author of this workbook? Dr. Robert Pearlman, chief of ethics evaluation for the center, a man who in 1996 advocated for physician-assisted suicide in Vacco v. Quill before the U.S. Supreme Court and is known for his support of health-care rationing.

“Your Life, Your Choices” presents end-of-life choices in a way aimed at steering users toward predetermined conclusions, much like a political “push poll.” For example, a worksheet on page 21 lists various scenarios and asks users to then decide whether their own life would be “not worth living.”

The circumstances listed include ones common among the elderly and disabled: living in a nursing home, being in a wheelchair and not being able to “shake the blues.” There is a section which provocatively asks, “Have you ever heard anyone say, ‘If I’m a vegetable, pull the plug’?” There also are guilt-inducing scenarios such as “I can no longer contribute to my family’s well being,” “I am a severe financial burden on my family” and that the vet’s situation “causes severe emotional burden for my family.”

… the VA panel of experts that sought to update “Your Life, Your Choices” between 2007-2008 did not include any representatives of faith groups or disability rights advocates. And as you might guess, only one organization was listed in the new version as a resource on advance directives: the Hemlock Society (now euphemistically known as “Compassion and Choices”).
